IMAP, POP3 හා SMTP
මොනවද මෙ POP3 හා
IMAP කියන්නේ බලමු ඉස්සරහට කත කරල ඒ ගැන.POP3 කියන එකේ තෙරුම තමයි “Post
Office Protocol 3” කියන එක IMAPඵ්
කියන්නෙ “Interactive Mail Access Protocol” කියන එක.
ඇයි අපි මේProtocol දෙක
භාවිතා කරන්නේ ?? ඔයාගෙ Computer එකෙ හරි Mobile/tablet
එකේ හරි ටියෙනemail client ගෙන්
email බලන්න ප්‍රදාන වශයෙන් අපි මේ ප්‍රොටොcඅල් දෙක තමයි භාවිතා
කරන්නේ
අපි බලමු මොනවද මේ දෙක අතර තියෙන වෙනස්
කම්,
ඔයා භාවිතා කරන්නේ Pop3 නම්
ඔයා email client ගෙන් Connect
උනාම ඔයාගේ mailbox එකේ
තියෙන mail ටික සෙරම ඔයාගේ local
Device එකට Download
වෙනවා. ඒ කියන්නේ ඔයා Offline හිටියත්
mail නැවත බලන්න පුලුවන් ඒ වගේම mail
Server ඒකේ space
එක පිලිබඳ ගැටලුවක් මතුවෙන්නෙත් නෑ මොකද
mail සියල්ල ගබඩා වෙලා
තියෙන්නේ ඔයාගේ local device එකේ
නිසා ඔයා භාවිතා කරන්නේ IMAP
නම් ඒකෙන් වෙන්නේ Client softwre එක
කෙලින්ම mailbox එකට Connect
වෙලා ඔයාගේ mail box එක
වෙත පිවිසෙන්න පහසු කම් ලබා දෙනවා.IMAP
වලදි ඕනෑම පරිගණකයක සිට mail box එක
වෙත පිවිසෙන්න හැකියාව තියෙනවා.නමුත් POP3
වලදි ඒ හැකියාව ලැබෙන්නේ නෑ .මේ තියෙන්නේ මේ protocol
දෙකෙහි වෙනස්කම් වගේම වාසි අවාසි මොනවද කියල……

Advantage of POP 3
- Email is available when you are offline
- Email is not stored on the server, your server space is free
- Just about any email client supports
Disadvantage of POP 3
- Speed is depending on your network speed it can be slower some times
- Much harder to server side filtering
- Mail is inaccessible from the other machine
Advantage of IMAP
- Email available from any machine you happen to connect
- Email stored on the server, so you email cannot be delete or destroyed is you computer should be happend any trouble
- You can access without even need a mail client (IMAP mail Via the Web
Disadvantage of IMAP
- mail is not usually available if you are offline
SMTP කියන්නේ...
SMTP
(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
Server අතර email පණිවුඩ හුවමාරු කරගැනීමේදී භාවිත
වන ප්‍රොටෝකෝලයකි. මීට අමතරව, email පණිවුඩ යවන්නාගේ ගේ සිට සර්වරය (mail
server) වෙත යැවීම සඳහා ද මෙය භාවිත කරයි.
